truck2017 F-350 XLT 6.7 Power Stroke, SRW long bed

doors are open. this board is for 3/4 and 1 ton diesel pickups. Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 6.7 Cummins, Super Duty F-250 through F-450 with the 6.7 Power Stroke, Silverado and Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD with the Duramax. older stuff is fine too, a 12 valve or a 7.3 owner will get the same answers as somebody with a 2025.

three boards. Diesel truck talk is the truck: cab and bed, SRW or dually, hitches, trims, hot shot setups. Engines, emissions and towing is what happens under the hood and behind the bumper: regens, sensors, block heaters, winter fuel, trailer weights. the third one, Buying and auctions, wants your invoice and the story of the first month.

who i am. tracy, Cheyenne. i spent sixteen years in a state shop keeping plow trucks and loaders running through Wyoming winters, and now i fix ag equipment out of my own building east of town. i drive a 2017 F-350 with 190,000 on it and i have opinions about block heater cords that i will share whether you ask or not.

the rule people will ask about first: no delete or tuning how-tos. if your thread is "how do i pull the DPF" or "which tune kills the EGR," it gets locked with a note. it is against federal law to take that equipment off a road truck, shops are getting fined over it, and i am not hosting it. if your truck is regenerating too often, throwing a NOx code, or eating DEF heaters, post it. that is exactly what the power board is for and there are people here who fix those for a living.

everything else is short. year, engine, transmission and SRW or dually in your first line. buying reports get the numbers in them. no classifieds, so do not try to move a truck in a reply. anybody on a dealer, lender, auction or transport payroll mentions it when it matters. new members get set up over email while the spam bots are a problem, the about page has the long version.

truck2018 Sierra 2500HD Denali, L5P Duramax

first one through the door from Fargo. it was 9 above this morning and that is the warm part of the month, so expect a lot of cold start questions from me.

question on the delete rule though. what about a guy who buys a truck that somebody else already deleted? i know two people in town who found out after the fact. can they ask here how to put it back to stock, or is the whole subject off limits?

also would be good if people put their winter low in their posts. advice from Phoenix about plugging in is not the same as advice from here.

putting a deleted truck back to factory is welcome, ask away. that is the opposite of what the rule is about. what stays off is how to remove it, and threads about selling a deleted truck to somebody who does not know.

the winter low idea is a good one and i am not going to make it a rule, just mention your town and people will figure it out. everybody's location shows next to their name anyway.

we are at 52 accounts after two days, which is about forty more than i guessed. several of you haul for money and there is a real diesel shop owner among us, which is more help than a two day old board has any right to. it is deer season and the first real cold is coming, so i expect the power board to fill up fast.
